Huizhou, China – Huajiayu officially releases its new-generation O-Band DWDM expansion solution, providing operators and enterprise users with a low-cost, zero-fiber-new-build upgrade method for legacy C-Band DWDM systems.

With the rapid growth of 100G and high-speed data services, traditional C-Band (1525~1565nm) wavelength channels are gradually saturated. Limited by fiber resources and existing live services, most network upgrades cannot rely on new fiber laying or large-scale equipment replacement. As an optimized and complementary waveband, the O-Band (1260~1360nm) features low transmission loss, excellent dispersion performance, and stable co-fiber transmission with C-Band signals, making it an ideal solution for in-service network capacity expansion.

To adapt to different legacy network conditions, Huajiayu provides two complete and field-verified O-Band upgrade technical schemes. For C-Band DWDM devices with a dedicated 1310nm port, the O-Band system can be directly interconnected to achieve zero service interruption and fast capacity expansion. For older DWDM equipment without a 1310nm dedicated port, the solution utilizes the EXP port of Huajiayu O-Band MUX/DEMUX devices to implement C-Band service pass-through and co-waveband transmission, completing network upgrade with only short-time service cut-over.

The overall solution supports 1~40km repeater-free passive transmission without EDFA amplification. It allows up to 16-channel expansion for dual-fiber systems and 8-channel expansion for single-fiber systems, fully meeting medium and short-distance transmission demands for campus networks, enterprise backbone, and data center interconnection (DCI).

Huajiayu’s supporting product portfolio covers full-series O-Band DWDM MUX/DEMUX modules, including 1U rack-mounted and LGX box types with 4CH, 8CH, and 16CH specifications. Matched with self-developed 100G QSFP28 O-Band transceivers covering 10km to 60km transmission distance (with built-in SOA chip for long-distance models), the entire solution ensures physical isolation between C-Band and O-Band services, completely avoiding signal crosstalk and ensuring stable network operation.

Different from traditional network reconstruction modes, Huajiayu’s O-Band DWDM expansion solution maximizes the utilization of existing fiber and equipment resources, effectively reducing network upgrade costs and construction cycles. It enables operators and enterprises to smoothly complete 100G high-speed service expansion under the premise of protecting original asset investment.
